Survey progress

There are approximately 39 500 female GPs in Australia

Around 30% have indicated they wish to retire in the next 3 years

Many more are closing their practices and pursuing other work.

Unfortunately, their voices are silenced in the discourses around primary care. We hope to change that by capturing their reasons for leaving

So far, we have opinions from 6% of the cohort. Will you add your voice?

Survey completion rate

Total based on female GP workforce of 19800 female GPs and 6600 (30%) intending to retire. Survey responses given as a percentage of the estimated 6600 planning to retire.

Are you a female, Australian GP who has retired or reduced your clinical load by >50% in the last 5 years,

OR

Are you a female, Australian GP who is planning to retire or reduce your clinical load by >50% in the next 5 years?

We are interested in your decision to retire and the factors that influenced that decision.

The study is sponsored by an RACGP Wellbeing Grant and is being undertaken with the University of Adelaide.
